YouTube are in the midst of releasing and testing a bunch of exciting new features for creators to produce content with. Including generative tools for ideation and trialling an ‘open call’ pilot programme to aid brands acquire content for their campaigns.
Personalised ideas and audience insights
YouTube’s inspiration Tab is utilised for content development and viewing audience insights. The updated Tab will display 5 ideas and allow creators to ‘brainstorm’ which is its generative tool for ideation.
The duration of shorts
The duration of shorts has increased from one minute to three minutes. These will be able to be displayed on channel pages, in YouTube Studio and subscriptions tab.
Creators who want their shorts to be classified as long-form content can adjust the aspect ratio to be wider.
Images on quiz posts
Creators can utilise images for each answer on a text-based quiz, they simply need to be multiple-choice.
Android users will be the first to access the feature, however, all devices will be able to see the displayed images on the poll on the community posts page.
Brand Connect Expansion
Brand Connect is a platform used to connect brands and YouTube creators. The platform offers users the ability to manage campaigns, pitch to brands, earn money and get greater insight. Brand connect is made available to all eligible users.
‘Transform’ and ‘DreamScreen’ for posts.
Dreamscreen is a tool to generate an image with the use of prompts. The transform tool enables users to customise and rephrase text during the production of the post.
Open call pilot programme
The ‘Open Call’ programme is currently in testing and will be until December 2024. Enabling advertisers to request specific styles of content from eligible creators.
The feature has been created in order to create ease and efficiency in the collaborative relationship between a creator and an advertiser.
C2PA Disclosure for camera-captured content
The new feature will label video content caught on cameras supporting C2PA version 2.1 or above. The label will read ‘Captured with a camera’ and is displayed to create transparency about where content is created.
