Google announced the changes coming to Google Ads, at DMEXCO, one of the industry leading digital marketing events in Europe.

Benefits of AI Image Editing

The AI Image editing will be able to generate responsive ads based on companies’ brand assets. This will offer many different advantages to brands including:

  • Creativity – Allowing users to create instantaneous imagery that is in line with their brand guidelines
  • Image resizing – Resizing of images for different platforms and advertisements e.g. search, display etc.
  • Productivity – Image generation helps with increased productivity as the time taken that would usually be assigned to image creation can be allocated to other tasks
  • Brand assets – Images can be created following brand guidelines using brands fonts, colours etc.

These AI Image editing tools will also be available in five new languages (French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch).

How will AI Image Editing work

Users will still be in control of the process with generative AI imagery. You will be able to give five reference images along with a prompt that will help Google to generate the images while sticking to your brand guidelines and philosophy.

Other new Ad features

Google have also announced several other new features coming to Google Ads including:

  • New insights and reporting for Performance Max campaigns
  • Negative keywords coming to Performance Max
  • Video creative preferences on Demand Gen

Generative AI being used to enhance ad campaigns may be the future of Google Ads with a more streamlined approach to advertising allowing users to significantly improve performance.
